How to apply SEO to every of our website templates: A Practical Guide.

All of our templates are already optimised to respond well to your new content.

Now that your website is populated with your real business content the finished website will need to be optimised for Google and the other search engines.

We can do his for you and if you prefer to do it yourself here are our tips for each of our templates.

Our templates are designed to respond well to SEO, while we have supplied the technical foundations such as clean URLs, mobile optimisation, XML sitemaps, structured data and SSL. Once the website has been completed the actual keyword targeting, titles, descriptions, headings, content, image optimisation and internal linking still need to be completed.

Here are our tips on what SEO steps you should take with each of our individual templates:

  • 1. The Awesome

The Awesome template would be optimised around marketing, social-media and agency-related commercial searches, with the homepage targeting the primary service/industry phrase and individual sections or pages targeting specific services such as social media management, content marketing or digital marketing. Its strong visual hierarchy should be retained while converting prominent text into descriptive H1/H2 headings, writing keyword-focused page titles and meta descriptions, compressing portfolio imagery, adding descriptive alt text and building internal links from case studies and blog articles to the relevant service pages.

    2. The Fitness

The Fitness template would be structured around high-intent searches such as “personal trainer [location]”, “fitness coach [location]” or “online fitness coaching”, depending on the business. Separate pages should target individual services, programmes or classes rather than trying to rank everything from one homepage, while testimonials, FAQs and useful fitness articles provide supporting topical content; images should be compressed and accurately described, and location information should be incorporated naturally for local SEO.

    3. The Cafe

The Cafe template is particularly suited to local search optimisation, so the homepage would target the cafe's core offering and location, with supporting content around coffee, breakfast, brunch, lunch, menus or speciality products. Business name, address, phone number, opening hours and location should be consistent across the site, while menu content should be crawlable text rather than image-only menus; fast-loading food photography, descriptive alt text, clear headings, local terminology and links to relevant pages would strengthen the site's ability to appear for nearby searches. Local SEO elements are very important for this template.

    4. The Pages

The Pages template would be optimised as a content-rich health, fitness, wellbeing or lifestyle site, using the homepage for the broadest keyword and individual pages for treatments, services, programmes or areas of expertise. Its multi-section structure lends itself to a logical H1/H2 hierarchy, detailed service copy, FAQs and educational articles, while internal links can connect informational content with commercial service pages; because health-related searches can be particularly competitive, demonstrating genuine expertise and providing useful, trustworthy content would be important.

    5. The Bold

The Bold template would be optimised by balancing its highly visual branding with search-readable content. The principal H1 should clearly state what the business does rather than relying on a graphic slogan, followed by keyword-relevant service/product sections and dedicated pages where appropriate; image-heavy sections should use compressed WebP/appropriate formats and meaningful alt text, while internal links, descriptive URLs and supporting blog content would ensure that the striking design does not come at the expense of crawlable information. The six pages and SEO design has been optimised in this emplate.

    6. The Scrolling

The Scrolling template would need particular attention to content hierarchy and crawlability, because its visual scrolling presentation could otherwise encourage overly short pages. Each major section should contain substantial, useful text with clear headings and links, while important services should have their own URLs rather than existing only as visual sections on a single page. Images and animation should be compressed and kept lightweight, and the site should be checked carefully on mobile so the distinctive scrolling experience doesn't compromise speed or usability.

    7. The Hospitality

The Hospitality template would be optimised for hospitality-related local searches, with separate keyword targets for accommodation, dining, facilities, rooms, events or other relevant services. The homepage should establish the business and location immediately, while individual rooms/services should have descriptive titles, URLs and copy; high-quality but compressed photography, structured data where appropriate, reviews/testimonials, location information and useful FAQs would reinforce both organic and local visibility.

    8. The Store

The Store would be optimised primarily through e-commerce SEO, giving every important product its own indexable page with a unique product name, descriptive copy, optimised title and meta description, high-quality compressed imagery and useful alt text. Product categories should target broader commercial searches, while internal links connect categories, products and related content; Our built-in product structured data can support rich results containing information such as product names, images, prices and availability.

    9. The Bonkers

The Bonkers template's animated visual style would be retained but technically restrained: the SEO priority would be making sure animation never obscures the site's text, slows the page or interferes with mobile usability. The homepage would target the principal commercial term, important services would receive dedicated pages, headings would clearly communicate the site's subject matter, and animations/background media would be compressed or deferred; descriptive copy, internal links and supporting articles would provide search engines with considerably more context than the visual effects alone.

    10. The Clouds

The Clouds template would be optimised similarly to a highly visual brand site, with the unusual scrolling/background effects treated as design rather than SEO content. Clear H1/H2 headings and substantial copy should explain exactly what the company offers, while service/product pages target individual search intents; images should be compressed, animations limited where they affect Core Web Vitals, and internal links used to create a straightforward crawl path between the homepage, services, about page, case studies and contact/conversion pages.

    11. The Services

The Services template would be particularly well suited to service-business SEO, with each major service receiving its own optimised page rather than listing everything on the homepage. Each page should have a unique keyword-led title, H1, meta description, URL, introductory copy, FAQs and clear call to action, while location-specific content can be added where genuinely relevant; internal links between related services and helpful blog content would build topical authority.

    12. The Tradesman's

The Tradesman's template would be optimised around local, high-intent trades searches, for example “electrician in [town]”, “builder [location]” or “property services [area]”. Individual service pages should target individual jobs, with genuine project photographs, customer reviews, areas served, FAQs and clear contact information supporting them; compressed before/after imagery with descriptive alt text and strong internal linking would allow the visual portfolio to contribute to SEO rather than simply decoration.

    13. The Wedding

The Wedding template would target wedding-related searches with strong geographic and service intent, such as “wedding photographer [location]”, “wedding planner [location]” or the relevant specialist service. Separate pages for services, packages, venues/locations and real weddings can capture different searches, while detailed case studies provide naturally keyword-rich content and internal-link opportunities; image optimisation is particularly important because wedding sites tend to be photographically heavy.

    14. The Brand

The Brand template would combine brand-name searches with non-branded commercial keywords so that the site doesn't depend solely on people already knowing the company. The homepage should explain the business and proposition in plain searchable language, with separate service/product pages targeting specific terms; strong heading structure, descriptive image alt text, fast-loading media, authoritative About content and internal links would give search engines substantially more context than a purely brand-led visual presentation.

    15. The Wedding Services

The Wedding Services template would be built around a service-and-location keyword architecture, with each major wedding service receiving a dedicated landing page and the homepage targeting the broadest relevant phrase. Testimonials, portfolios and real wedding case studies can support long-tail searches, while venue/location pages should only be created where there is genuinely useful, unique information; titles, headings, descriptions, URLs and internal links would then connect those pages into a coherent site structure.

    16. The Lifestyle

The Lifestyle template would work best with a topic-cluster strategy, using broad lifestyle/product terms on the main pages and narrower searches on product, collection, service or editorial pages. Visually rich imagery should be compressed and given useful alt text, while editorial/blog content can capture informational searches and link naturally into commercial pages; if it sells products, category and product pages should be individually optimised rather than relying on the homepage.

    17. The Event Planner

The Event Planner template would target event-planning searches by service, event type and location, for example corporate events, weddings, parties or conferences in the relevant area. Individual event types should have dedicated landing pages containing genuinely useful information, supported by case studies and testimonials; venue/location content, FAQs, descriptive headings and internal links can capture long-tail searches while strong calls to action turn organic visitors into enquiries.

    18. The Wellness

The Wellness template would be optimised around wellbeing services and specific treatments/programmes, with careful attention to trustworthy, authoritative content because many wellness searches overlap with health topics. Each treatment should have a dedicated page with clear descriptions, practitioner credentials where appropriate, FAQs and relevant supporting information; location, contact and business information should be prominent for local searches, while images should be compressed and accurately described.

    19. The Healthcare

The Healthcare template would require especially careful trust, expertise and informational SEO. Individual treatments/services should have dedicated, comprehensive pages with clear headings and plain-language explanations, while practitioner credentials, qualifications, location, contact information and authoritative supporting resources can strengthen credibility; technical SEO, accessibility, mobile performance and accurate metadata should be treated as essential rather than cosmetic additions.

    20. The Spa

The Spa template would target local treatment and spa-service searches, with individual pages for massages, facials, treatments, packages or other services and the homepage targeting the primary “spa + location” term. Treatment pages should answer practical questions such as duration, suitability and booking, while reviews, FAQs, location information and properly optimised photographs support local discovery; internal links should lead visitors naturally from treatments to booking/contact pages.

    21. The Boutique

The Boutique template would be optimised for hotel, guest accommodation and destination searches, combining accommodation-specific terms with location and experience keywords. Individual rooms/property features should have indexable pages where useful, while location guides and genuinely helpful travel content can attract informational searches; fast image delivery is particularly important, and structured data, consistent business details, descriptive titles and strong internal linking should support visibility.

    22. The Office

The Office template is ideal for a professional-services SEO architecture, with the homepage targeting the firm's primary service and location and individual pages targeting services such as accounting, conveyancing, employment law or consultancy. Each service page should answer the user's likely questions and include appropriate calls to action, while practitioner/team information, testimonials, FAQs and educational articles build topical relevance.

    23. The Specialist's

The Specialist's template would be optimised around specialist professional, property, interiors or construction services, using separate pages for each service and, where justified, each important geographical market. Case studies should be expanded into useful project pages rather than simply image galleries, incorporating project type, location, service and outcome information; optimised imagery, descriptive headings, internal linking and authoritative project content would turn the template's visual strengths into searchable assets.

    24. The Pie

The Pie template is a one-page design, so SEO would focus on making the page exceptionally clear and locally relevant, with a single strong H1 followed by logically structured H2 sections covering the business, products/services, location, FAQs and contact information. Since everything is concentrated on one URL, keyword targeting must be disciplined rather than trying to rank for dozens of unrelated terms; if the business has multiple important services or locations, adding dedicated pages would ultimately provide a stronger SEO architecture.

    25. The Delicious

The Delicious template would be optimised for food, drink, events and hospitality searches, combining commercial and local intent. The main page should clearly identify the business and location, while menu/service/event pages can target specific searches; crawlable menu text, compressed food photography, descriptive alt text, reviews, FAQs, booking information and internal links would provide both search engines and customers with useful context. Squareguru describes this design as particularly suited to food, drink, events and hospitality.

    26. The Media

The Media template would need to ensure that its creative presentation is accompanied by sufficient textual context. The homepage could target the primary creative/media service, while portfolio projects become individual case-study pages containing descriptions of the work, client, sector, service and outcome; compressed video/images, descriptive alt text, clear headings, fast loading and internal links would help the site rank without sacrificing its visual character.

    27. The Gorgeous

The Gorgeous template would be optimised around coaching, wellbeing and lifestyle service searches, translating its stylish visual language into clear search intent. Dedicated pages should target individual coaching/treatment/services, with the homepage targeting the principal service and location; FAQs, testimonials, practitioner expertise, useful educational articles and internally linked supporting content would provide depth, while optimised imagery would prevent the visual design from becoming a performance liability.

    28. The Photographer's

The Photographer's template would be optimised by turning the portfolio into searchable, structured project content rather than relying on photographs alone. Individual galleries or project pages should identify the photography speciality, client/project type and location where relevant, while service pages target commercial searches; every important image should have meaningful alt text and appropriate file dimensions/compression, with a journal/blog providing additional long-tail opportunities. Squareguru's own photography guidance emphasises mobile-friendly design, fast-loading/compressed images, SEO page titles, location keywords and accessible alt text.
