The Squarespace platform started out as a template based website platform in 2004. It was easy for anyone without any knowledge at all about website design to build their own website. All you had to do was choose a template, add your content and customise it yourself.

You can easily in most cases change your website over from your old clunky template to the newer 7.1 version which is the new non-templated version of Squarespace. Fluid engine was released in 2022. On the new version you don’t have the same restrictions that your old template limited you to do. Now you can easily improve your design and the SEO.

Keeping your website up to date is important. Google sees new regular content as more important than anything else as if you’re keeping your website up to date it’s likely to be more relevant and therefore a better search result for those looking for your product or service.
